Cookie Policy

PJSC ALROSA

This Cookie Policy describes how PJSC ALROSA (hereinafter referred to as the Company) operates its website while safeguarding the website visitors’ interests in data privacy.

Cookies

Subject to the web browser’s settings, the Company collects information that is sent to it automatically by the website visitor’s web browser when he accesses the Company’s websites by help of a cookie. This information typically includes the IP address currently assigned to the website visitor’s computer and the type of the operating system and browser installed.

A cookie is a small text file that a web server stores on the hard disk drive.

There are session cookies and persistent cookies.

Session cookies

Session cookies are used to assign a randomly generated unique identification number to the website visitor’s computer each time he visits one of the Company’s websites. A session cookie expires after the website visitor closes the browser. The Company uses session cookies to support the functionality of its websites and to understand how the website visitor uses the Company’s websites, i.e. which pages he visits, which links he uses, and how long he stays on each page.

Persistent cookies

Where admitted, the Company uses persistent cookies, which do not expire immediately after the website visitor closes the web browser, but stay on the website visitor’s computer until they expire after a set period of time or until the website visitor deletes them. Each time the website visitor visits any of the Company’s websites, the web server will recognize the persistent cookie on the hard disk drive of the website visitor’s computer. By assigning a persistent unique identifier to the website visitor’s computer, the Company is able to create a database of the website visitor’s previous choices and preferences. The unique identifier helps the Company to keep a more accurate account of how often the visitor comes to the Company’s websites, how often he returns, how his visits may vary over time and how efficient are the Company’s promotional efforts. This information does not however reveal the website visitor’s personal data; it solely reveals movements made on the website visitor’s computer through the Company’s websites.

Consent to Use Cookies

Session cookies do not require the website visitor’s prior consent, since they are necessary for the functioning of the website and will expire once the website visitor has left the website. Persistent cookies that track the website visitor’s previous choices and preferences, but are not necessary for the functioning of the website require the website visitor’s express prior consent. By navigating the Company’s website, the website visitor consents to the use of persistent cookies, unless the website visitor changes the settings of his computer to avoid such cookies being installed. The same applies to third party cookies.

How to Change Cookie Preferences

- enabling the use of all cookies integrated in the pages and browsed content. Note: on the one hand, these cookies are readable by their issuers only; on the other hand, this process is not definitive. It will always be possible to disable these cookies afterwards (cookie management will vary depending on the website visitor’s Internet browser, please refer to the relevant instructions),

- blocking the use of the website visitor’s cookies on the device. In this case, note that ease of navigation will be affected. Some functions require the use of cookies (for example, it is possible that the website visitor’s operating system will not be recognized or that the language displayed will not be the expected language). Consequently, the Company will accept no responsibility for any inconvenience caused by the possible malfunction of services due to the necessary cookies being unavailable,

- agreeing or disagreeing to the web browser’s request before the installation of a new cookie on the website visitor’s device;
